17th EUSPR Conference – 15 to 18 September 2026
The call for abstracts is now open!
Dear colleagues,
The 17th EUSPR Conference and Members’ Meeting will be held in Dublin, Ireland from 16 to 18 September 2026. Workshops and project meetings are scheduled for the pre-conference day, 15 September.
The multi-day conference format allows for poster and early career dedicated sessions, keynote presentations and parallel sessions, and overall plenty of opportunities to engage and network with fellow EUSPR members.
The EUSPR 2026 conference will take place at the Hotel Riu Plaza The Gresham Dublin. In the second half of 2026, Ireland will hold the rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union and for six months, Ireland will guide negotiations, broker agreement between Member States, and help deliver EU laws and policies that affect the daily lives of more than 450 million people. The 17th EUSPR Conference and Members’ Meeting will also be part of that period and support networking in the field of prevention across Europe.
This year, the event will be co-hosted by the Irish Department of Health and the Irish Health Research Board thus strengthening the collaboration between prevention research, policy and practice.
The conference theme “Innovation in Prevention to Support Health Equity” embraces this perspective by acknowledging scientific advances (e.g., regarding technology like AI, novel approaches to personalised prevention) and conceptual innovation (e.g., linking climate and health, one health and planetary health) while being mindful of the risks and chances for equitable prevention for all. In prevention science, an investigation of the foundations of safe and healthy living is paramount, and this can only be achieved by addressing systemic inequities and utilizing innovations in a beneficial way.
The conference aims to reflect upon diverse developments, approaches and practices of creating and implementing innovation in prevention research and practice and the consideration of health equity in these processes. Through an open dialogue with decision-, opinion-, and policy-makers, we also aim to illustrate the pipeline from prevention research to practice and discuss the role of relevant policies and their impact on the translation.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Dublin!
