The EUSPR Registries Collaboration offers a platform for professional exchange and mutual support to national and international prevention and public health registries. Many countries have developed registries to help decision-makers and practitioners understand the evidence of preventive interventions and select suitable interventions for implementation. These registries might use different standards of evidence, focus on various problems or target groups, and have different presentation and functionality. Nevertheless, the challenges are similar – for example, problems related to the awareness of the databases, the transferability of the listed interventions or the linking of the interventions with funding mechanisms.
Registries Collaboration offers opportunities for cooperation between the people involved with registries and supports finding solutions to the common issues.
The first meeting of national (and international) preventive intervention registries took place during the EUSPR 2025 Conference and was a significant moment for European cooperation in the field of evidence-based prevention and knowledge translation. Participants represented 11 registries and discussed topics such as funding and sustainable structures, criteria for classifying evidence, communication to different target groups and evaluation and expansion of the registries.
A key take away from the meeting was that the registries have different origins and strengths; with further collaboration we can strengthen our prevention systems, share experiences and competences, and find solutions to the challenges.
Since then, regular online meetings take place, which help to understand the work and developments of different registries.
