Meeting of national and international prevention and public health registries during EUSPR 2025 Conference in Berlin

Dear colleagues,

Many European countries have developed online registries, lists or webpages, which aim to help decision-makers and practitioners understand the evidence of preventive interventions and select suitable interventions for implementation. These registries might use different standards of evidence, focus on various problems or target groups, and have different presentation and functionality. Nevertheless, the challenges are similar – for example, problems related to the awareness of the databases, the transferability of the listed evidence based projects or the linking of the application of evidence-based projects with funding mechanisms. Despite the existence of several registries, there is little collaboration between the people involved with them and countries struggle to find solutions to the common issues.

We are pleased to announce an official meeting of national (and international) preventive intervention registries that will take place during EUSPR 2025 Conference. It is a further significant moment for European cooperation in the field of evidence-based prevention and knowledge translation. The meeting is organized by partners from Estonia, Finland, Norway, France and Germany handling registries such as Ennetuse teadusnõukogu, Ungsinn, ReperPrev, Grüne Liste and Kasvun Tuki, and supported by the Federal Institute of Public Health in Germany.

The meeting is a great opportunity to bring together the many international actors and understand the current state and role of registries in national prevention systems. It will be an important step in addressing the existing challenges and promoting the opportunities of registries. Participants’ needs will provide input into future collaboration.

The meeting will take place on 23 September (9:00am-12:30pm), during the 16th European Society for Prevention Research (EUSPR) 2025 Conference and Members’ Meeting. For more details on the meeting please contact Karin Streimann (karin.streimann@tai.ee).

If you are involved with any national or international registry and would like to participate, please register via our “EUSPR 2025 Pre-conference day registration form” as places are limited. (See button or registration form in the beginning of this page).
