Dear EUSPR colleagues,
We would like to inform you about recent phishing attempts within the EUSPR network. Several colleagues have reported receiving emails impersonating the EUSPR President, sent from various non-EUSPR email addresses.
These messages typically attempt to initiate a conversation (“I know you’re busy but could you please spare me a few minutes out of your time?”) and may escalate into requests for sensitive information or financial transactions.
Please note that these emails are fraudulent and have no connection to EUSPR.
If you receive a suspicious email, please:
- Do not respond or engage with the sender.
- Do not provide personal, financial, or organisational information.
- Mark the message as spam/phishing and delete it.
If unsure, forward it to us at office[at]euspr.org for verification.

Subject: EUSPR
Dear (NAME),
I hope this email finds you well? I know you’re busy but could you please spare me a few minutes out of your time?
Let me know so I can share some more information with you. I look forward to hearing from you. I wish you a merry Christmas in advance and nice Seasonal Greetings before the next year and new activities!
PS: Sorry if my email went to spam/Junks, it’s due to recent connection error
Kind regards
Elena Gervilla

Official EUSPR Email Accounts
Please note that the official EUSPR email accounts are with the domain “[at]euspr.org”.
Any email claiming to represent EUSPR but sent from Gmail, or other non-EUSPR addresses should be treated as suspicious.
Board members (see here our current Board of directors) may contact you from their university or organisation email accounts, as not all have an official EUSPR email address. However, they will never request financial transactions, or sensitive personal information.
Please note that the only EUSPR processes that require payment are membership renewal and conference registration, and payments can only be made through our secure online system on the EUSPR website or by bank transfer. EUSPR will never request payment via personal emails or unofficial channels.
The EUSPR Office may also request personal data for legitimate administrative purposes related to:
- membership renewal,
- conference registration,
- the call for abstracts, and
- the preparation of the conference programme (e.g., speaker details, affiliations).
Any request for personal data or payment outside these defined processes should be treated with caution.
We appreciate your attention on this matter.
EUSPR Office,
on behalf of the EUSPR Board of Directors
