Centre for Behaviour Change and the Health Psychology Research Group are looking for four Research Associates to join the team

Research Associate in Health Psychology

An opening exists for an experienced and enthusiastic Research Associate to lead the behavioural science input to the newly formed Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) tasked with evaluation of interventions. The post holder will contribute to and lead on a range of projects addressing the design and evaluation of health protection interventions – such as how to communicate with patients and GPs to reduce antibiotic prescribing. The post will require proactive engagement with senior researchers to identify opportunities for behavioural science input and the capacity to provide leadership for initiating, conducting and reporting the work in collaboration with multidisciplinary research teams and service providers.

This post is funded for 2.5 years in the first instance and is expected to start towards the end of June.

Research Associate in Behaviour Change

An opening exists for an experienced and enthusiastic researcher to work on a large collaborative research project investigating privacy, trust, and security of the internet of things. The post is part of an EPSRC research hub on the Internet of Things (IoT) involving experts from social sciences, computer sciences, and engineering. This successful candidate will explore topics such as the use of models of behaviour to build an understanding of facilitators and barriers of cybersecurity in the home and the corporate environment. The project will further build on behaviour change theory and evidence to inform development of interventions and communications to improve cyber-hygiene.

The post is funded for 12 months in the first instance.

Research Associate in Health Psychology – two posts

Centre for Behaviour Change and the Health Psychology Research Group are looking for two Research Associates in Health Psychology to join the team

Two openings exist for an experienced and enthusiastic Research Associate to lead the behavioural science input to the five year programme of research, ‘Developing and trialling the DAFNEplus (Dose for Adjustment for Normal Eating) intervention: A lifelong approach to promote effective self-management in adults with type 1 diabetes’.  Funded by the NIHR, this multi-site research programme is led by Professor Simon Heller in Sheffield with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians and educators. The posts will be with Prof Susan Michie who will lead the behavioural science stream of the work.

One  post is funded for 36 months and the other for 34 months in the first instance.
