Travel and Accommodation – EUSPR 2018

Accommodation and Travel guidance

Our EMCDDA co-organisers in Lisbon have provided a handy travel and accommodation guide based upon their previous experiences of hosting conferences and meetings. Please note that neither the EMCDDA, nor EUSPR, take any responsibility for your booking choices, experiences and stay. You are also advised to check with independent review websites before making your final booking. Alternatively, please use a website such as TripAdvisor to research and select your hotel.

All our suggestions are within the city centre, but please check the precise locations to ensure that they meet your needs.

The travel guide includes directions on how to reach the EMCDDA at Praça Europa, which is next door to the EMSA-EMCDDA Conference Centre, where the main conference is being held.

Transferring from Lisbon airport

Lisbon is a safe and friendly city, but like many cities, sometimes visitors can unexpectedly pay more than locals for taxis from the airport. If you have enough time, and not too much luggage, then the Metro or Aerobus are convenient modes of transport (please see the Travel Guide above). If you decide to get a taxi then we would recommend avoiding the taxi queues at Arrivals, and instead walking to the Departures drop off area and getting a taxi from there, or using a service like Uber, which will also pick you up from Departures.
